Hear What Buyers and Exhibitors Say
"Home Solutions is part of the Future Group, the largest retailer in India. India is a very fast-growing market and we would like to increase consumption by bringing in new products, particularly digital cameras, mobile phones and LCD televisions – these TVs are the hottest product in India at the moment. This show gives us exposure to what’s happening in the market and where we can identify suppliers. There is a great variety of products here. Last year we placed orders worth around US$3 million here, and it is likely that we will double the amount this year, thanks to the improvement in the economy. This is one of the best organised fairs in the industry. We always find that we are able to source good-quality products at very good prices from here."
Buyer Mr Manoj Kumar, Chief Executive Officer – CD & E, Home Solutions Retail (India) Limited, India

"We produce lights and sirens mostly for municipal customers such as police and fire departments. I am looking for PCB and full assembly manufacturers from Asia, particularly the Chinese mainland, for our new design of siren. I’ve met with about 12 exhibitors and we will follow up on them after the show. This is my first time at this fair – before coming I checked it out with other people in the industry who advised me to visit. Everything is really good here, and I’ve found potential suppliers in other areas, too, such as sheet metal stamping and aluminum extrusions, so that was a nice bonus for me. This fair is an excellent resource – I am based in the US and sourcing over the internet has its limits. Because Hong Kong is a hub for the region I can take the opportunity to visit existing suppliers in southern China, too."

Buyer Mr Thomas J. Jonas, Senior Buyer, Code 3 Inc., US

"Currently the major market for our audio products is in Europe. The Hong Kong Electronics Fair is very well known in the industry and attracts buyers from around the world, so here we can meet many new prospective customers. We’ve already met many buyers from South America, including Brazil and Argentina, which is very interesting for us, as well as the US and Europe. We find HKTDC staff very helpful – they are very responsive to our needs."
Exhibitor Mr Edwin Lo, Marketing Manager, Sensor Industries Limited, Hong Kong

"We have recently been awarded the licence to produce digital camera products for HP, so we decided to attend this fair for the first time in order to increase awareness of the brand and the products. We want to take the opportunity to find distributors worldwide. There are many buyers here from areas that we are particularly targeting such as the Middle East and Asia Pacific, but we are also seeing people from South America and Europe, too – in fact, we’ve been incredibly busy! The show is very well organised – we find the staff to be very supportive and the services are great."
Exhibitor Ms Annie Tsai, Marketing Manager, Lite-On IT Corporation, Taiwan

Hear What Buyers and Exhibitors Say
"Several of our competitors have been more aggressive than us in having products manufactured in the Chinese mainland. Currently only 20% of our production comes from outside our own factory and we would like to increase this, especially for LED products. So I am visiting the fair for the first time in order to find OEM companies, because we knew that this event has many Chinese participants. I’ve already started talking to some potentially suitable manufacturers. We’ve had success in the past finding long-term partners through HKTDC fairs, so I’m confident we will do so again."
Buyer Mr Atsushi Ohtsuka, Manager, Technical Department, NEC Lighting, Ltd., Japan

"Mustafa Sultan is one of the largest organisations in Oman, involved in many different areas. The lighting group represents Philips – in fact, we are the oldest agent of Philips in the world, having represented it for 35 years. However, we are keen to source alternative suppliers for our lighting projects, which is why we are attending this fair for the first time. We have short-listed three or four companies, including one from Singapore, that we are likely to buy from. We also attended the seminar on the latest safety and regulatory requirements of LED lighting – this kind of insight is very useful. The HKTDC Dubai office has been extremely helpful in planning our trip. The arrangements at Hong Kong International Airport, getting to the hotel and the venue and, once here, at the Dragon Lounge have been absolutely marvelous.”
Buyer Mr Arif Abbas, General Manager, Mustafa Sultan Electronics Company LLC, Oman

"We are a young company and this is our first time at this fair. It is a good opportunity for us to expose ourselves to the market and let people know who we are and what we do. We’ve had a lot of interest in our lighting products, especially the energy-efficiency designs, from visitors from around the world, including Europe, US, Mexico, Japan and the Chinese mainland."
Exhibitor Mr Sean E. Sabastian, Sales Manager, Singapore Ginkgo Group Pte. Ltd., Singapore

"This fair is international, so it is the right place for our products that are aimed at the high end of the market. We produce our own designs of LED products, most of it holiday lighting. We’ve attended the fair before and established first contact with a couple of our regular customers here. Among the visitors to our booth this time have been buyers from the US, Turkey and Russia. We’re happy with the organisation of the event."
Exhibitor Mr Jack Zhou, Manager, New Light Source International Limited, Hong Kong
