“Binatone is one of the world’s leading consumer electronics companies with more than 50 years of experience in creating outstanding consumer products. Earlier this year, we launched a series of IoT products such as Smart Nursery Alert Sensor, Smart Nursery Humidifier and Smart Nursery Mother & Baby Scale which are powered by Hubble Connected. The first batch of these products will be delivered to our customers in May this year. At the Spring Electronics Fair, we are showcasing this series of IoT products which are convenient to use and allow users to store and read data and use smart features anytime anywhere. At the fair, we have received enquiries from buyers from all over the world about our IoT products.”
WK Wong, General Manager, Binatone Electronics International Ltd, Hong Kong
Booth: 1B-A02
“Our company has been a CAD/CAM technology provider since 1994. Last year, we started to develop software for robotic applications which help manufacturers to achieve production automation. Due to labour shortage, manufacturers on the Chinese mainland are looking for automation solutions which can reduce reliance on workers. Mainland manufacturers have a growing demand for robotic applications. We have joined the Spring Electronics Fair again to promote our brand, to increase our exposure and to showcase our robotic solutions. At the fair, we have met with manufacturers from different provinces such as Guangdong, Hunan and Zhejiang who are interested in our robotic solutions. We’ll follow up with them after the fair.”
CH Lai, Director – Automation, Intelligent CAD/CAM Technology Ltd., Hong Kong
Booth: N207-01

“With a history of 41 years, Super Muffato is a supermarket chain with 40 stores in the western part of Brazil. At the Spring Electronics Fair, I am looking for wireless or Bluetooth headsets and earbuds, Bluetooth mini speakers as well as keyboards and mice. As wireless headsets and mini speakers are getting popular in Brazil, demand is growing. Up till now, I have identified six potential suppliers of earphones and speakers. I need to collect more details from these suppliers. If their prices and qualities are good, we’ll place an order for one 20-feet container with each new supplier. This is my first time attending the Hong Kong Electronics Fair. The fair is much better than my expectation. I am happy to have found suitable suppliers here.”
Junior De Oliveira, Commercial Manager, Super Muffato, Brazil

“Established in 1993, Solarbotics supplies BEAM robotics and DIY electronics through our online store. In North America, people like to build their own devices and that’s why DIY electronics products are so popular. At the Spring Electronics Fair, I have found two potential suppliers. One of the suppliers provides different components like motors and sensors and software so that people can make their own robots. As the prices offered by this supplier are affordable, I am going to place an initial order worth US$20,000. Another potential supplier provides USB extension cord bracelets and power supplies, and I’ll buy 3,000 pieces and 1,000 pieces respectively. I like the Spring Electronics Fair because the product zones are very well-organised, making it easier for buyers to find what they want. I have also found a lot of new ideas.”
Dave Hrynkiw, CEO, Solarbotics, Canada

Theme of the day: IT Startup
As the global demand on IT applications and services booms, ICT start-ups continue to flourish in Hong Kong, many quality and innovative ICT solutions have been developed.

As one of the signature events of International IT Fest 2016, International ICT Expo 2016 provides an ideal platform for start-up companies to present their solutions for different industries and meet with investors for potential business opportunities through the IT Start-ups Investment Matching Gathering.

“iStartup@HK” Pavilion
The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) presents an iStartup@HK pavilion to showcase products and ideas from local start-up companies. Incubators including Cyberport and the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation are also presenting products from start-ups.

Startup products brought by Technopreneurs
Brilliant Top Inc. Limited (Booth: 3F-G04)
Boutir
Boutir enables users to open and manage their online store via Mobile. It taps into the underdeveloped snap-sell market in which users can simply upload the product photos through mobile app and instantly sell them online through a website, and manage all the orders with just a mobile app.

Monster App Ltd (Booth: 3F-G04)
Appkuma – Mobile App Builder
Appkuma mobile app builder supports both iOS & Android phones. The mobile app can integrate Facebook content, online shop, O2O coupon, Kuma Talk messager and more features. The best tool to build your brand and engage your customers.

Paytix Global Limited (Booth: 3F-G04)
Secure E-Pass (for E-ticketing and E-payment)
Today's e-tickets are commonly static QR codes or barcodes printed on paper or displayed on mobile phones, which are devoid of any security whatsoever, susceptible to unauthorized duplication, re-use, forgery and alteration and thus confined to cheap ticket applications. Secure E-Pass of Paytix Global Limited is a patented, mobile and app-based e-ticketing system with enhanced security.

RippleBench Limited (Booth: 3G – E20)
UNI Match
UNI Match is a product which binds the university community closer together. It is unique in three important ways: a platform for the university community; two-way information flow; ability to handle both official and informal events. UNI Match fills the existing gap for a comprehensive app which is solely tailored for the university community. While apps on events creation and joining like Meetup do exist, they can hardly target a particular age group or background. In UNI Match, however, the users’ identities are verified by school emails. Students and staff can communicate directly in the app and find people with similar interests to do activities together. Secondly, UNI Match offers two-way communication with university information, including emails, announcement boards, and official apps for particular university such as USThing. With UNI Match, people can be connected via the platform. When they see the information or event in which they are interested, they can join the group and start a chat right away. Lastly, UNI Match allows students to post as individuals, with the use of UNI Match platform, people can easily form teams, find partners for start-ups or simply discuss topics.

“This is the first time we’ve established an ETA pavilion at the International ICT Expo to raise our profile. Five companies are joining the association and taking up six booths togehter to promote various applications including ERP, IoT, smart home, remote control and innovative solutions that turn concepts into production. The exhibition proved to be highly rewarding as we’ve attracted a lot of interest from both local and overseas customers. The web marketing campaign via HKTDC also generated positive feedback from buyers. We are exploring cooperation with the contacts we met during the fair to grow our business. It will take some time to build relationships. ETA strives to provide a strategic platform for businesses, academia and those in the R&D field to exchange ICT ideas and collaborate for further development. We anticipate to bring together even more companies to participate in the Expo again.”
Andrew Ip, Honorary Secretary and ICT Committee CoChairman, Hong Kong Electronics & Technologies Association (ETA), Hong Kong
Booth: 3G-D16
“We have been participating in the International ICT Expo for many years to promote our innovative ideas and solutions for various commercial applications. One of the major highlights for this year is our newly-developed CVH-Sliver: Interactive Virtual Anatomy System, a medical education device that allows the user to navigate human body slices easily. We’ve already attracted very positive responses from several potential partners and customers from India and the Chinese mainland in the first couple of hours. Other interesting devices on display include a virtual acupuncture system for learning human body acupoints and an intelligent traffic sign recognition solution that helps drivers recognise partially occluded traffic signs. We are showcasing our inventions with interactive demonstrations here. The Expo is a perfect place for us to exchange with the ICT industry and learn about the latest trends and how we can enhance our products with the market needs. It’s an excellent platform for everyone in the industry.”
Meng Qiang, Research Assistant, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Booth: 3G-B04
“We are participating in the International ICT Expo for the first time to promote the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation Entrepreneur Hub. The hub seeks to foster young entrepreneurs and innovative startups. Five Hong Kong startup companies now operating in the hub have joined us to showcase their ICT products and solutions. We’ve received a lot of interest and enquiry especially from local visitors. A number of companies have also approached us to explore the opportunities available in Qianhai area. Further talks will be conducted with them after the exhibition. This is a great platform to raise the profile of Qianhai. We will continue to work with HKTDC to enhance operation and promote our services.”
Yvonne Wong, Deputy General Manager, Qianhai International Liaison Services Limited, Hong Kong
Booth: 3G-C09
“Hong Kong Cross-Border e-Commerce Association is making our debut exhibition in the International ICT Expo. We see a tremendous potential for the growth of cross-border e-commerce activities. Our association has a strong membership with many Hong Kong companies and Chinese mainland enterprises. Five companies have joined our exhibition this year showcasing various services such as third-party payment, online platform, O2O, training courses on e-commerce, third-party logistics and mobile encryption. We’ve received a lot of enquiry from visitors. The overwhelming response to today’s forum also reflected the market’s great interest. The Expo offers an excellent opportunity to promote cross-border e-commerce. We expect to return next year with even more companies in our pavilion.”
Liu Shao Hua, Chairman, Hong Kong Cross-Border e-Commerce Association, Hong Kong
Booth: 3G-C16
"International ICT Expo is really a great fair and we are happy to be here again this year. Five companies have come together to promote their innovative ICT services including the provision of culture contents, online service solution and educational tools for children in the Korean pavilion. Four of the participating companies are exhibiting here for the first time. We are especially keen to expand our presence in Asia through the exhibition. We can also find serious buyers from all over the world here. We've drawn positive responses. One participating company successfully signed a partnership with a Hong Kong customer in the second day of exhibition. The Expo is a meaningful event for us every year. Korea's ICT companies love to come here to meet international buyers. We will continue to participate in the fair to grow our presence."
In-mi Hong, ICT Service Team Manager, Gwangju Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency, Korea
Booth: 3G-D06

“PT Adiraja Integrasi is an IT solution provider in Indonesia with an ambitious expansion plan. We are actively growing our e-commerce and fleet management services. Currently, we mainly source solutions through local trade fairs or online portals. This is my first visit to the International ICT Expo. It’s an exciting fair with a lot of new ideas on offer. I’ve already found five potential suppliers for e-commerce and fleet management solutions from India and Hong Kong. We will study the solutions closely and compare their pricing and advantages before concluding the cooperation. The process of negotiation is expected to take three to five months. Initial orders are estimated at US$20,000 to US$30,000. This is a great journey. I would like to visit the fair again.”
Yohanes Herby Gisorv Mogot, Sales Director,
PT Adiraja Integrasi, Indonesia
“Boulevard IT Superstore is running a chain of 20 retail shops selling a wide range of computers, mobile phones and telecom products and accessories. We have launched our online sales business in recent months for expansion. We are visiting the International ICT Expo to source e-commerce, m-commerce and POS solutions this year. The business matching meetings arranged by HKTDC proved to be fruitful. So far, we’ve found five potential suppliers from India, Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland for various solutions. We will examine the quality of solutions carefully before finalising the details of operation. This is a good fair and the seminars we attended are very informative seminars. It has been a rewarding trip.”
