“This is a great opportunity for us to introduce the Windows 10 features like Cortana, Face On Log, Continuum and Wireless Display to the customers. I think the trend is Cloud and Mobile. As our CEO said: “Mobile first, Cloud first.” You can see all the devices that are showcased here – mobile. The trend is moving so fast not only on course but on features. In the past, we did this kind of events every 6 months. But now it’s 2 months or 3 months because the cycle is getting shorter. Hong Kong is so close to Shenzhen and the China Technology Ecosystem. We have lots of investments and resources in Shenzhen, and our partners are close to Hong Kong so it’s easy for them to carry all the devices here and meet with all the customers. We really love this event.”
Jack Huang, Senior Director, OEM Local Device Sales, Microsoft Corporation, USA
Booth: Meeting Room N101-01
“Established in 1996, our company designs and produces relaxation, therapeutic, fitness, diagnostic, hygiene and beauty products under our Ogawa brand. Currently, we have about 700 points of sale in 27 countries and regions. At this year’s Spring Electronics Fair, we have set up a booth in the Hall of Fame and a showroom to showcase more products and to open up new markets such as Africa, Europe, India and the Middle East. Buyers from India and the Middle East find our products very unique and they are very interested in cooperating with us. As the HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair is a premier sourcing platform for international buyers, the Hall of Fame provides the best place for our brand promotion and market expansion. We’ll book more space at next year’s fair.”
Louis Chong, Executive Director, Healthy World Lifestyle Sdn Bhd, Malaysia

“Homeplus is a hypermarket chain wholly owned by Tesco with 140 stores throughout Korea. This is my first-time visit to the Hong Kong Electronics Fair. I am looking for new designs especially for mobile accessories, USBs, power banks and speakers as well as new products. I am particularly interested in wearable electronics because the market for this kind of products is growing. The Hong Kong Electronics Fair is an impressive show that brings together such a large number of suppliers and a great variety of products. I am sure that I can find potential suppliers at the fair and send their information to our buying office in Hong Kong for further negotiations.”
Jung In Kyung, Associate, Small Domestic Appliance, Homeplus Co., Ltd., Korea
“We are an importer and wholesaler of electronics products that supply cables, microphones, headphones, speakers, flash memory cards and card readers under our own brand to hypermarkets and electronics retailers in Romania. This is our first time visiting the Hong Kong Electronics Fair. We enjoy meeting with suppliers directly at trade fairs and understanding more about their product quality. We’re going to expand our product range into smart home products to meet the demand of our customers. We have shortlisted 12 potential suppliers. We intend to buy smart home products after collecting all the quotations. 3D printers will have a lot of potential in our market, so we have established contacts with the suppliers here and will study these products.”

“HKSTP has brought together seven tenants and three incubatees to participate in the International ICT Expo this year. We aim to offer an opportunity for the partner companies to showcase their innovations and technologies, and to meet with potential partners for business and R&D exploration. By joining the Expo, we expect to promote Hong Kong as a hub for innovation and technology, and a good nurturing ground for ICT business. Digitalisation, connectivity and intelligence are the engines of growth, supporting the advanced manufacturing, moving consumers closer to the manufacturers and disrupting the supply chain. Mobile internet, internet of things, big data analytics and cloud computing are key technologies driving these trends. We are glad to see that the ICT Expo has been expanding its role not only as a fairground for companies to exhibit, but also a platform for startup companies to showcase their innovative ideas and technologies as well as a platform for business matching.”

“Al Rostamani is a major solution provider and of the biggest system integrator in UAE. We provide end-to-end ICT solutions from physical infrastructure to networking, IT security and applications. Technology is changing fast and the ICT industry offers tremendous potential for business growth. This is my first visit to the International ICT Expo. I am here looking for data centre management, cloud-based services and smart home solutions. I’ve identified more than 10 exhibitors for the provision of ICT solutions and smart devices. One of them is an Indian company providing various transportation, warehouse management, logistics and date centre solutions. We will distribute its solutions to customers in UAE. Negotiation is also underway with a New Zealand exhibitor to distribute its data centre management solution. The Indian and New Zealand exhibitors will visit us in Dubai next month to conclude details. The potential amount of business is at least US$500,000 per year each with the two companies. I will come again for sourcing and expect the Expo to expand further."
Mohammed Sajid Ali, Senior Divisional Manager, Al Rostamani Communications LLC, UAE

We operate a chain of 50 shops across the country providing a comprehensive range of IT and consumer products as well as networking and IT security services to both corporate and individual customers. I am looking for data-based security and backup solutions at the Expo. There are some very interesting software applications. The Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) serves as another platform for us to source cables, batteries, cases and other accessories of tablets and smartphones. I am now in talks with more than five suppliers, mainly from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, for accessories and software items. This is a good place to establish contacts, find innovative offerings and source products. I will certainly come again.”
